Surveys
The INA Private Sector Survey aims to collect accurate and up-to-date information on the challenges, opportunities, and experiences of businesses in Papua New Guinea. The findings are used to inform government policy, guide development partner support, and monitor changes in the business and investment environment over time.
2024 Informality Country diagnostic Survey
In Collaboration with World Bank, INA engaged with collecting and analyzing firm-level data and other economic information to understand the factors that (i) prevent firms from formalizing and (ii) affect the development and growth of formal firms due to the unfair competition from informal firms. The consultant will also help the team with analysis, reviews of the literature, and data gathering and processing to inform the overall firm-level analysis.
2017 INA’s Private Sector Survey
The Institute of National Affairs (INA) conducted its five-yearly Private Sector Survey on the Business and Investment Environment in Papua New Guinea.
This nationwide survey is designed to better understand the challenges and issues faced by businesses in PNG, and to provide informed policy advice to government agencies, development partners, and other stakeholders. It also enables comparisons over time with previous surveys, which have been conducted since the 1990s.

We strongly encourage all businesses in PNG to participate. Your input will help ensure the survey reflects the real and diverse experiences of the business community and helps set clear priorities for action.
